Week # 89. Baptism!

E ai everyone, we got some miracles!!
This week we were able to teach the couple and have a super good lesson! We were tasked to teaching the Law of Chastity! Which has super importance to God as we know. I I that the best way to go about it would be to read a few verses on eternal marriage and just show to them that God has God tthings waiting for them and all they need to do is take them! So after we read the few verses, my companion explained a little bit more specifically teaching them about it! And at the end we asked them if they had any questions. And the boyfriend said "I dont really have any questions just more of some thoughts" and I was like please share!! haha he said "I feel like we need to get married as soon as possible to not be living in sin". I was stunned. He totally grasped the idea of how important this is to God and wants to start making changes right now!!! The spirit honestly works so strong with the couple and I know its because they are making conscious efforts to follow the Savior!!

With another friend we got to teach Tithing!! And tithing is super fun to teach because the scriptures are full of examples of it. But specifically the doctrine and covenants really polishes it down to what is exactly important and neccessary! Truly is a book inspired by God and is so helpful to us since the revelations were recieved.

Here is one of our miracles!! We decided at one point during the week that we wanted to go an visit less active members and we found this ome middle aged man who lived alone! We went to his house and clapped his door and he came out and the second he realized who we were, he wanted us inside haha so we when we got inside, we realized he had a son!! And this son happens to not be a member of the church! And the member was so happy that we were there to be able to talk about Gospel things with his son!! So we are going to start teaching him and I'm super stoked!!

Finally, this week we had a baptism!! Our mans was so ready to be baptized that all we had to do was get him an interview!! On friday we realized that we needed to check the heater at the church to see if it would be able to heat the water, only to come to find out that it was broken!! We literally spent like 2 hours trying to fix it and finally gave up haha Now normally this wouldn't be a problem, but winter has arrived here in brazil. And here in the south, we have been getting down to 50 degrees at night. Which is a little chilly!! So Saturday came and watching my companion walk into the water was probably the funniest thing in the world hahaha but then came the part of the baptism:) as my companion put out friend into the water, all I was feeling was joy. Just super happy knowing we had helped our friend to get to this point. The Church is so true and I want you all to know that Jesus Christ lives. Our friend came to know that and changed his life to follow the Lord. We all can do the same

2 Nephi 24:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! Art thou cut down to the ground, which did weaken the nations!

During a companionship study, my companion had talked about the beginning part of that verse. "How art thou fallen from heaven." And how we all can ask ourselves how we fall from heaven. The verse is clear that we make our decisions and then comes the consequence. But we also know there is another way! And that's staying in heaven!! So i know if we are always willing to ask ourselves the hard questions, and always be trying to remain in heaven. We will inherit all that Heavenly Father wants us to have!!

I hope you all have a great week! Don't forget to say your prayers and read the Book of Mormon!
