Week # 66. First Chapel in South America!

Boa Noite todos!!

This week was so much fun! I've learned that if we let one or two bad moments define us, we'll loose sight of all the good that happens! A lot easier said that done but that mindset has shaped this week!

First up to start of: Elder Soares came to brazil!! Sure he only stayed in São Paulo but we got to have a brazil wide mission conference with him!! It was so cool! He really focused on what missionaries need to do after they go home. And a lot of that is remembering the lessons that we've learned on the mission. Our faith that we've gained can take us so far! Another thing is that he talked about our foundations. And the way he referenced it, it kind of sounded like he was talking about the basic things, like reading the scriptures and praying, make up our foundation! And so the question President Nelson asked us makes a lot more sense now! How firm is our Foundation?? How strong is our ability to to the basic things?? So so cool!!

This week we were teaching a lady buttttt it was a little bit of a complicated situation because she is totally ready to be baptized but the sisters found out that she actually didnt live in their area, but in ours. And so with her baptismal date all set and firm, she basically switched wards and is still wanting to keep her date! Marvelous faith some of these Brazilians have!

So little fun fact for all of you that were wondering: the Chapel here in Joinville was the first chapel in all of South America! It has now been 90 years since it was dedicated so one of the members of the Brazil Area Presidencey came to dedicate it as a historic site of the church! It was so so cool! They had some of the members of city council- or the Brazilian equivalent haha come and say a few words and they said that they can feel the difference the Church makes in the city! If you ever feel like you aren't accomplishing anything, dont forget that people notice the things you do! And it makes a difference in their lives!

2 Nephi 32:9 But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul.

What a blessing we have to talk with our Father in Heaven and if we do that, He will consecrate our efforts!! It's an amazing promise because I know in my life I never seem to measure up but with God and Jesus Christ we can do all things! Say those prayers!

Hey each of you, dont forget to have a good week! And dont forgot to say your prayers!! And read the Book of Mormon!
